Flying Mountains 2020

About This Project

Flying Mountains are series of works that pay tribute to the greatest natural landscapes that give us the sense of belonging. Detailed mountainous landscapes are fabricated with digital technologies based on NASA satellite terrain data. The first work in this series is Mt. Jade (3,952M) the highest mountain in Taiwan. The landscapes are elevated by rays of light as though they are floating above a sea of could. The work also reminds us how digital technology transforms our view of the world at all scales.
